Why the Model Number Matters

Two appliances with the same brand name can use completely different controls, motors, valves, sensors, heating systems, and service procedures. The model number lets us identify the exact design before parts are ordered and helps prevent incorrect part matching. On many refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ovens, the model tag is located around the door opening, behind a drawer, under the lid, or along an interior wall.

Brand Name Does Not Always Tell the Whole Story

Some appliance brands share manufacturing platforms, and some long-running brand names have used different manufacturers over the years. That is why our diagnosis is based on the actual appliance, model, symptoms, and test results instead of the logo on the front alone.

For example, a washer that will not spin may involve a lid-lock, drive, control, motor, or sensing issue. A refrigerator that is not cooling may involve airflow, defrost, fan, compressor, sealed-system, or control problems. The repair path depends on the exact unit and what testing shows.
